Peru is considered one of most affected countries by the COVID-19 pandemic. It faced the sudden imposition of a mandatory quarantine that had a devastating impact on various aspects, including the economy and, consequently, artistic production in all its forms. The future became uncertain, characterized by fluctuating and sometimes incoherent prohibitions, as well as an absolute lack of health care, which brought anxiety and depression to Peruvian society. The resulting isolation and stress led to an increase in family conflicts, giving rise to an increase in physical, psychological and sexual violence.

The painting explores the tensions and contradictions present in the domestic sphere, revealing the gaps and fragilities that the pandemic has revealed in the conventional idea of the home as a space of protection and shelter.
